Extended magazines improve the ammunition capacity of a handgun.

Although it sounds like a no-brainer, certain considerations may be a problem for Glock owners who conduct concealed carrying, such as the scale of the magazine.

It may be a challenge to find the best item for a variety of styles, carrying power, and sizes.

If they are worth it, how to choose the right one for you, and then a breakdown of the top brands on the market, this post will go into the fundamentals of extended mags.

If you’re looking for something that’s always concealable or a magazine that improves your ability dramatically, read on!

Worth the Trouble: Extended Magazines?

The popularity of extended magazines is that they are bulkier, thicker and difficult to hide.

Although this is obviously accurate, the degree to which the extended magazine takes up additional heft and space would depend largely on the actual product itself.

A single extra round is inserted for certain expanded magazines and very little relative space is taken up.

You may remember that a major deciding factor is the quality of the material.

Buying a cheap product that is not intended to minimize consumption of space can leave you with a ton of additional bulk that might not even be worth it.

For this cause, as the items we evaluate are of good quality and alleviate these issues, we suggest reading our reviews.

It’s important to incorporate extra rounds for when you need it most with a good extended magazine.

Extra rounds will easily become a life-or – death factor in a self-defense scenario.

Plus, there’s nothing to deter you from having an expanded mag or a regular mag on hand, mounted into your Glock the other way around.

Aspects to take into consideration when ordering an extended magazine

Not all extended magazines are made equally, like many components and accessories for your Glock.

You’ll want to weigh a number of variables and how precisely those variables relate to you, including:

Capacities

If you want two rounds to be included, or only one? Varying capacities may be enticing, whether for self-defense or competition.

If you want to fire more with a larger expanded magazine and reload less, or do you only want an additional bullet for self-defense?

Dependability

Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension

As a regular magazine, extended magazines ought to be at least as accurate.

If they misfire, there’s no sense in making extra shots.

Concealability

A larger magazine would be tougher to cover than a smaller one, and while capacity is directly related to scale, the magazine’s shape is unique.

This indicates one that carries an additional four rounds might be bigger or smaller than the expanded mag of another brand that carries an additional four bullets.

Weight

By merely inserting additional shots, an expanded magazine may be compactly built and yet add weight.

If weight matters to you, bear in mind that the weight of the unloaded magazine won’t give you a complete picture.

Quality

Because based on your preferences, what you value can vary, it’s crucial to note what you’re getting should be fairly priced.

Fortunately, most extended magazines adding one or two rounds are equally priced to regular magazines and are designed for concealed carrying.

That said, make sure you’re paying exactly what you want and need before you shell out your hard-earned cash.

What makes it one of the Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension?

You’ll see mag extensions several times, that can hold two extra rounds.

But this one will give you a total of three rounds extra.

So, the magazines are going to go up from six to nine in an instant.

For the times when eight isn’t always enough when it comes to firing targets, this would be a perfect magazine extension.

If you want an easy-to – install magazine extension that is sturdy in design, this might be right up your lane.

Tyrant is a manufacturer of firearms components out of Chicago.

Their Glock 43 mag extension, developed by CNC, is simple and easy to mount.

The entire procedure takes less than ten seconds and needs no equipment.

Without altering the ergonomics, these aircraft-grade aluminum mag extensions retain the profile of your Glock handle.

These extensions still have much better aesthetics than much of their alternatives who are blocky and awkward looking.

They have more of a custom-built look with their smooth cambered edges that are sure to attract comments on the range.

They are offered in five distinct colors : black, grey, blue , red, and aluminum.

You have the option of plus one, two , or three extensions of round capacity.

Each edition fits with the spring stock of Glock magazine.

Why settle for less while there’s something you can get?

Verdict: Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension

Strike Industries - Enhanced Magazine Plate For Glock® 43 +2

Pros

  • Quick & easy to install
  • Holds two extra rounds
  • Ergonomic grip

Cons

  • None

2nd Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension – What recent users say?

A number of new users say that, for their Glock 43 and for a few good reasons, this was a perfect magazine extension.

For example, their magazines added up to two additional bullets.

And a cinch was the installation process. Also with the extension intact, one person said he did not have an issue with loading the magazine.

So far, after installing it, he is still certain of the same smooth feeding and durability.

What makes it one of the Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension?

This extender of the magazine was very strong in design.

It’s built like a tank for a tiny device and certainly shows its value in the consistency department.

On a daily basis, you can fill as many rounds as you want and it won’t wear or break off.

If you want to add a little bit of extra shooting power to your Glock 43, this could be what you need.

If your interest is captured by the Pearce Grip For Glock, yet you would like more than a single round, Strike Industries has you covered.

The Improved Magazine Plate For Glock 43 +2 introduces two extra rounds for a more extensive extender with two extra rounds, increasing your ability on a Glock 43 up to nine bullets.

For enhanced reloading, you’ll also enjoy a low drag and no-snag style.

You’ll even get more finger space, much like the Pearce Grip.

Strike Manufacturers have used the chance to make it more ergonomic as it adds more space, which not only makes the grip more secure, it still allows for a tighter grasp and hence superior precision.

You will choose to use the same spring and follower, even if it introduces an extra two rounds, involving no additional purchase.

Overall, at just under an inch and a half in length, it gives a little extra size and heft to your Glock.

If you want something more substantial than a single round, having nine rounds without too much hassle is a distinct advantage.

For whom is this Glock 43 Magazine Extension best suited?

If you are doing this to maximize the magazine capacity for concealed carrying purposes, then you may want to consider this extension of the magazine.

It’s almost a promise that this would satisfy you for years down the line, crafted from the finest quality materials.

Verdict: 2nd Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension

A perfect choice for either a Glock 43 or a Glock 43x magazine is the Strike Industries Enhanced Magazine Plate.

With the extension and the potential to send you a few of rounds to deal with, you would be very pleased.

Not bad for when you most need it in applications for self-defense or target shooting.

The Strike Industries Improved Magazine Plate For Glock 43 +2 achieves this and more, enhancing ergonomics and, essentially, quality without any extra volume, to bring the round count up to nine.

Best Value Glock 43 Magazine Extension: Pearce Grip – Grip Extension For Glock®

Pearce Grip - Grip Extension For Glock®

Pros

  • Very robust
  • One extra round
  • Very reliable

Cons

  • Not the best for small hands

Best Value Glock 43 Magazine Extension – What recent users say?

In as few as five minutes, new customers were able to install it.

When mounted, they found a boost in capacity immediately and it didn’t take them long to make effective use of the extension.

One user said it was very easy to install, and because of consistent setup, it doesn’t fall apart easily.

He’s been very happy so far and stated that he’s going to use this for his concealed Glock gun.

What makes it one of the Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension?

A basic model that will offer you a few more rounds at your discretion with every application is this magazine extension.

This can differ from concealed carry to aiming objectives.

But it’s a pretty scary, strong magazine extension that will get the job done, regardless of how you use your Glock 43.

Like the name implies, the Pearce Grip Extension for Glock does and offers a better Glock grip out of the box with extra surface area, while it fits the factory texture.

Although this is a fantastic perk, for extra rounds and concealment, we’re primarily here.

Fortunately, the Pearce Grip Extension provides very little additional volume, partially because it just provides a single extra round, and by removing the magazine floor plate, it achieves this.

In fact, while the added circular tacks are 0.82 inches in length, the additional 3/4-inch gripping surface is more visible than the extra mass.

In comparison, practically, the small extra duration serves like a pinky extension.

The inclusion of less than an inch is going to have a very small impact in terms of concealability.

You’re just having one extra round, on the other side.

Now, one round might be the decision between life and death, but realize that one round is what you’re having.

If you’re on the fence regarding extended mags, it really only makes sense to go for an extra round with so little added additional duration, relative to a regular issue.

You get a stronger grip, and you get one more shot, just at almost the same price as a regular magazine. Concealment stays practically the same.

Finally, you do not require a fresh spring or a new follower.

Pearce Grips are very common, and when there is almost nothing to lose and anything to win, it is easy to see why, unless, of course, you want more than a single additional round.

For whom is this GLock 43 Magazine Extension best suited?

For a mag extension, whether you want the nearest thing to standardized, this might be just what you are searching for.

For any particular application, you can tack on a few rounds and it’ll be no different than before (other than a handful of extra rounds).

Your weapon itself, for as many rounds as you shoot, can always give you excellent reliability.

Verdict: Best Value Glock 43 Magazine Extension

The Pearce Grip Extension For Glock makes complete sense for those who are okay with a standard magazine, providing several nice enhancements with an extra round, for about the price of a standard magazine.

4th Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension: Tangodown – Magazine Extension For Glock® 43

Tangodown - Magazine Extension For Glock® 43

Pros

  • Simple to install
  • Very smooth feeding
  • High quality

Cons

  • Not the best ergonomics

4th Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension – What recent users say?

It was used for target shooting purposes by around half of the latest customers.

Breaking things down, for competition purposes, a good portion of such customers were looking to expand their magazines.

One consumer claimed that the inclusion of the extra rounds was precisely what he was searching for as he needed something of an advantage on his competition.

What makes it one of the Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension?

The Tangodown Magazine Extension For Glock 43 incorporates the method of applying rounds to your Glock with some thoughtful style.

You’ll get two additional rounds, adding up to nine of the overall round count.

With an expanded floorplate built to suit a relaxed shooting grip, it is injection molded from the same content as is used in the body of the magazine.

What we also appreciate is that TangoDown has an upgraded package instead of utilizing the same spring and supporters as usual.

To be sure, we choose either to use the regular package or to have an upgraded collection, and a new set may need certain extenders to be bought separately.

The spring of Tangodown is longer here, heat processed, and constructed of stainless steel.

It would not only last longer, but it feeds very easily and comes back with a final-round slide button.

We have to point out, relative to the offer from Strike Industries, that both products contribute less than an inch and a half.

An enhanced spring is given by Tangodown and is a better value.

However, as with the Strike Industries extender, it would not boost ergonomics.

This is your magazine extender if you’re hunting for a decent budget extender and don’t worry too much regarding ergonomics.

For whom is this GLock 43 Magazine Extension best suited?

This might be just what you are searching for whether you are a professional shooter or only need a couple additional shots to prolong the fun at the range.

If you do not want to, you do not have to buy more magazines.

But you can buy a good extender that will be long-lasting and simple to use.

Verdict: 4th Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension

If you want to spend a decent bit of time there with a couple extra shots, the Tangodown Magazine Extension is your best friend on the range.

For your one magazine (or a couple extra mags if you like them), you’re going to enjoy getting this mag extension handy.

How would you say no to additional shots, either way?

5th Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension: Ghost – Glock 43 Magazine Extension

Ghost - Glock 43 Magazine Extension

Pros

  • Very durable
  • High quality spring & feeding
  • Good value

Cons

  • Not the best quality

5th Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension – What recent users say?

Many of the latest buyers became the owners of Glock 43.

This is expected, after all, because the extension is only appropriate for Glock 43 mags.

The extension was a cinch to add and it made it very easy to load their magazines and with a decent amount of smoothness.

So far, not a single person has complained in the least about the extension.

What makes it one of the Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension?

If you are searching for the most budget-oriented option on our chart, here it is: the Ghost Glock 43 Magazine Extension would add two rounds to your Glock while practically leaving your bank account unchanged.

It even practically keeps the Glock unaffected, living up to the identity of the Ghost by becoming literally transparent.

You can find very little difference overall in your grip when utilizing the same current magazine base layer, except that it is now elongated by around an inch and a half to provide your pinky with additional space and therefore a stronger grip.

Now, here you don’t get specifically enhanced ergonomics or grip surface, but there are several bonuses.

First, you get a magazine spring of stainless steel, which demonstrates a mild change over the stock spring.

Don’t expect too many, but some better feeding is something you might see.

The lifelong promise is what really makes us happy.

Not one or two years, but an unconditional lifetime guarantee for a magazine extender with such a good price.

Ghost may have given no assurance of the great value they provided so honestly, but they gave it to you anyway.

You can’t beat the value, while definitely not the greatest all-around magazine extension on our list, and a lifetime promise to back it up also makes this a must-have for budget-conscious shoppers.

For whom is this GLock 43 Magazine Extension best suited?

This is a magazine expansion special to Glock 43. If you buy the gun with the intention of carrying or hitting the target every day, then the decision can really be a no-brainer.

How would you say no to an easy-to-install extender that is really unlikely to break and tear, anyway?

Verdict: 5th Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension

The Ghost Glock 43 magazine extension may just be right up your alley if you want an extender that’s going to be perfect for your Glock 43 magazines and nothing else.

Don’t overlook in the least the efficiency and function of this.

No matter how many magazines you have, it can not carry you really far.

The Ghost Glock 43 Magazine Extension promises amazing value and a lifetime warranty for shoppers who just want to add two additional rounds to their Glock 43 but are uncertain about the price.

6th Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension: Taran Tactical Innovations – Firepower Base Pad For Glock® 43

Taran Tactical Innovations - Firepower Base Pad For Glock® 43

Pros

  • Very good quality
  • Made in USA
  • Quick to install

Cons

  • Price

6th Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension – What recent users say?

With the extender, new users were really pleased. Before installation, they had nothing more to say other than it was easy to use, super robust, and giving them something of an enhanced grip.

One consumer said that relative to before, it potentially made his gun more ergonomically comfortable.

What makes it one of the Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension?

The Taran Tactical Innovations Firepower Base Pad For Glock 43 is a must-have for shoppers wanting a premium magazine extender and able to pay a little extra.

In addition, it comes in two flavors: a +1 or a +2, each adding one or two rounds.

No need to compromise on which product to choose, as either way you can get the same great design.

As the one-piece system needs no drills or devices to disassemble, you can find the consistency automatically, and there are no minor pieces to lose.

It has exceptional longevity and is lightweight, constructed of aluminum billet machined by CNC and even hard anodized.

Without acting like the beast it is, this creature can survive the test of time.

Here is the best part: there is literally no additional duration applied to the +1 form.

That’s right, this magazine’s intelligent nature guarantees a lightweight but powerful feeding framework that leaves your concealed carry as covered as it does with a regular paper.

A little over 3/4 of an inch is applied to the +2, rendering everything extremely concealable.

A stronger spring made of stainless steel comes with the +2 edition, while the +1 uses your stock factory spring.

Finally, components of Taran Tactical Engineering are all assembled in the USA and proceed through stringent quality management inspections.

Eventually, this is the way to go if you want to add to your magazines but want to lose neither quality nor space. It’s a bit pricier, but it’s worth it for sure.

For whom is this GLock 43 Magazine Extension best suited?

For so many beginner-level users, this is a nice starting extender.

If you are new to the idea of extensions for magazines, then it is important for you to test one out for yourself.

Maybe this model is a strong one to begin with.

And maybe it will continue longer for you than you think.

Verdict: 6th Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension

If you like the Glock 43’s very best magazine extender in terms of concealability and budget is not a problem, the Firepower Base Pad’s virtually invisible and tank-like architecture will be difficult to beat.

Final Verdict

Best Glock 43 Magazine Extension

Before making a purchase, we have taken a peek at whether a magazine extender is worth it and what you might think.

Your interests will still come first, so, equipped with that experience, select the one from our list that makes sense to you.

We’re glad to suggest that without sacrificing your ability to conceal properly, everyone can have an extra round or two, although some may make more sense than others with your preferences and may even boost efficiency.

Any way, take your Glock 43 magazine extender and conceal your firearm, thinking you have a spare chance or two!

What readers also ask?

The following is a compilation of questions commonly asked that would be helpful as a reference for you. This will give you a clearer idea of how extensions to Glock 43 magazine operate.

Here are the issues that follow:

Is a Glock 43x Magazine going to fit a Glock 43?

Although the 43x is a longer barrel variant of the Glock 43, sadly, magazines that fit a Glock 43 are not going to fit a 43x and vice versa.

It is because there is a width gap. And thus, for each weapon, a magazine would be ill-fit.

The magazines are even varied in length, too.

How many bullets does a Glock 43 have in its magazines?

Up to six rounds will be held by a Glock 43. You can, however, expand it using a broad range of (mostly aftermarket) magazine extensions.

GLOCK G43: the smallest and narrowest GLOCK in 9 mm Luger on the shooting range

GLOCK G43

With an ultra flat frame and single row magazine, the Glock G43 is ideal for concealed carrying.

Held in the powerful 9 mm Luger caliber, it can also be shot precisely and comfortably – as was also proven in our test.

And don’t forget to watch our brand new video.

It’s always a bit strange to talk about GLOCK pistols and try to add something groundbreaking.

Because the pistols of the Austrian manufacturer are too well known, proven and appreciated for that.

And the fact that for almost 40 years they have been practically without any significant improvements is proof of the outstanding nature of the original design – safe, reliable, robust and precise.

So what can we say about the GLOCK 43 that we tested on the shooting range?

You are currently looking for a new GLOCK pistol, but don’t really know which model suits you best?

No problem, because we have the GLOCK Buyer’s Guide for you!

GLOCK Slimline Pistols: The G43 is especially short & slim!

Let’s just start with the facts: The G43 is a sub-compact pistol in 9 mm Luger caliber with typical polymer frame, preloaded firing pin lock and is fed with single stack (single row) magazines.

Like the model G42 in .380 Auto, it belongs to the GLOCK “Slimline” pistols.

This is the smallest GLOCK pistol ever developed. Designed as the perfect backup pistol for concealed carrying in everyday situations, the GLOCK 43 is therefore convincing with its reduced dimensions, ergonomic design and short trigger distance.

And yet it offers the same familiar benefits of the larger models. Only the GLOCK G42 in 9 mm short / .380 Auto is a bit smaller in its dimensions.

GLOCK G43

But – someone will object – GLOCK already offers the sub-compact G26 in 9 mm caliber:

Why did they design another pistol for concealed carrying at all?

Well, the answer can be summarized in a single word: slenderness.

Unlike the G26 for double stack magazines, the G43 has an overall width of only 27 mm: 6 mm less than the G26! By the way, the shutter width is only 22 mm.

The overall length of 159 mm and the height of 108 mm (including magazine) are also minimalistic.

The shutter length is 154 mm, the barrel 86.5 mm. These dimensions make the difference in terms of comfort and inconspicuousness when worn undercover.

In fact, the GLOCK G43 is the shortest and narrowest GLOCK in the 9 mm Luger caliber.

The technical data of the GLOCK 43

The recommended retail price for the subcompact pistol GLOCK 43 Slimline 9 mm Luger is 644,- Dollar.

Like all GLOCK pistols it comes in a plastic case with 2 magazines, loading aid, cleaning rod with brush and screwdriver for sight adjustment.

GLOCK G43: our test on the shooting range

Even though the dimensions have been extremely reduced, the G43 technically shares the usual features of all GLOCK pistols: namely the patented “Safe Action” trigger system with constant trigger travel as well as trigger weight remaining constant from the first to the last shot, 3 safety devices (trigger safety, firing pin safety, drop safety), simplest construction, the extremely resistant plastic, the practically indestructible tenifer coating of the metal parts and of course highest precision.

GLOCK G43

Ergonomic design for better control: In addition, the grip with built-in beavertail and rough surface, which allows a high and firm grip.

Feeding and removing the magazine is made easier by the large magazine holder.

Remarkable: Also the trigger distance of the GLOCK Slimline Pistols is actually smaller compared to other models of the manufacturer – in the case of the G43 it is 65 mm.

As expected, we did not experience any unexpected surprises with the GLOCK 43 in the shooting test.

Because shooting the G43 feels very comfortable: The recoil is higher, obviously – this is a physical fact, because we shoot full metal jacket in 9 x 19 mm Luger – but the felt control of this small weapon is very good.

Also thanks to its low barrel axis it is easy to control the shot. And its actual upstroke can already be easily tamed with the included protruding magazine.

The slim grip proved to be comfortable in every situation, hardly depending on the size of the shooter’s hand.

Despite the fact that the area of the grip back is reduced compared to double-row models, the excellent damping properties of the lightweight grip and the optimal position of the barrel axis are effective in damping the recoil and improving the handling of the weapon.

Well-placed doubles are not very difficult to achieve.

GLOCK G43

A quick change of magazine is not possible without some getting used to it.

However, the fact that the grip ends in the palm of the shooting hand makes the free fall of the empty magazine unlikely.

But with training, an appropriate speed can be achieved, especially with additional extended magazines.

The controls are easy to operate, adequately dimensioned and have the familiar intuitive feel.

The precision is exactly what you can expect from a GLOCK, although the very short sight length of the G43 is not exactly a guarantee of increased precision.

What we appreciated most were of course the ultra-slim features of the G43.

With its compactness and slimness, yet still offering the full performance of a 9 mm pistol, this tiny, truly “handbagable” pistol is the ideal choice as a discreet self-defense tool.

The only drawback is that the magazine, as a sub-compact single-barrelled, only holds 6 rounds (plus one in the chamber).

But in the real world we can be sure that they are more than sufficient for any self-defense situation.
