5 Best 6.5 Creedmoor Suppressors
Looking for the perfect 6.5 Creedmoor suppressor? If you are a first time user of Creedmoor (which we would not test in this case), you may find your hunt for the best suppressor a challenge.
If you’re a first-time buyer or a long-standing user of Creedmoor searching for an improvement, you’ll want to look at the five best suppressors we’ve been reviewing in this post.
When you want to reduce your rifle’s noise, a suppressor is much required and it’s crucial to find the right one that will function to your satisfaction.
Legality of a Suppressor
We need to address the legality of the purchase of a Creedmoor Suppressor before you decide to buy one.
It relates to the legitimate possession and usage of a suppressor.
Suppressors are actually permissible in 42 jurisdictions of the US.
And if your state is on the registry, you can still check to see whether there are any municipal laws to purchase, possess, or use a suppressor.
Double testing and authentication is easier than purchasing a suppressor, then running into legal problems.
For instance, while California is one of the eight states exempt from the list, if you hold a legal FFL, you might be able to buy, own or use a silencer.
Make sure to take due diligence before you purchase.
Bear in mind that you will not be exposed to a check by the ATF or other authorities when you buy a silencer, nor would you require a specific authorization for using it.
Of course, possessing a silencer would be illegal if you were under the age of 21, lived in a jurisdiction that disallows the silencer, or were deemed a convicted criminal.
How We Pick the Best Suppressors
When selecting suppressors to be included on our selection, we determine to include them based on a few special criteria.
When seeking your own Creedmoor suppressor, it’s necessary to remember these factors:
Materials & Metals
The first thing we are looking for in a high quality suppressor as always is the kind of material it is produced from.
Many would be constructed of high-quality metal in order to guarantee optimum longevity.
In other words, if you want a suppressor that can take hundreds of rounds over a period of time, then longevity is critical.
After too many rounds a cheap suppressor can sustain damage.
Obviously a suppressor’s purpose is to substantially reduce the rifle’s noise.
Finding a suppressor that can reduce gunshot noise down to a quiet level is critical.
The magic number we look for is 140 decibels.
With that figure or less, you would be able to shoot your Creedmoor weapon without ear cover.
It doesn’t have to be a large suppressor when it comes to adding it to your weapon.
That is why the suppressors that we have selected are normally easy to use.
Some suppressors need basic tools, such as flat wrenches, to tighten the bolts that will lock the suppressor in place before shooting your rifle.
You want it to be comfortable and not to wiggle in the least.

A Quick Overview Of The 6.5 Creedmoor Silencer Innovations 2020
Much has happened in 2020 in terms of silencers and the high demand among hunters continues unabated.
And so new manufacturers from all over Europe appear on the scene, which even insiders were previously unaware of, or at best only know from hearsay.
In this review of the year you can read what these manufacturers have to offer, how the market is developing and what else has happened in the field of silencers:
Let’s be honest: Who has ever heard of silencers from Osuma (Finland), Wyssen Defence (Switzerland) or Thorax (Italy)?
But let’s start with what the established manufacturers have to offer.
Everything there is focused on rounding off the product ranges, especially the large and very large “overbarrel” or “telescope” models with maximum damping, which are very popular in Germany for hunting.
Developments of the established silencer manufacturers:
A-Tec from Norway, for example, are presenting the Optima 60 as the new flagship of their series with quick coupling. As the name suggests with its proud outer diameter of almost 60 mm!
In the segment of silencers that are more tailored to the needs of public authorities, a completely different development has been taking place for quite some time.
There the maximum damping performance is of less importance, instead a most compact design with moderate weight is required. B&T now offers the Miniature Assault Riffle Suppressor (M.A.R.S.), which is available for self-loading weapons in 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm calibers.
Like the B&T, the modular silencer from Thorax Tactical is also tailored more to self-loading weapons.
Depending on the composition, the manufacturer promises attenuation rates of over 30 dB.
The concept with different modules is not entirely new and not entirely uncontroversial with many authorities (e.g. with regard to functional reliability in case of a changed configuration, incorrect assembly, loosening screw connections, lost accessories, etc.), but the promised attenuation values sound so tempting that they will find interested parties in the civilian market.
The Finnish Saimaa Still also has a special focus on functional reliability in its silencer products (in the 9 mm, 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm calibers): regardless of whether the silencer is mounted directly on the barrel or on the associated muzzle flash suppressor, the silencer should not lead to any significant over-functioning of the weapon (an often critical problem especially with weapons without adjustable gas release).
Which new manufacturing processes are used in the production of silencers?
All silencers mentioned so far, as different as they may be, have one thing in common: their classical manufacturing and joining methods.
They are screwed, pressed or welded constructions made of aluminum, steel, titanium or even Inconel.
Even though manufacturers like Wyssen Defence expressly point out in their new products that they are designed and manufactured with a view to weight optimization, it is unavoidable that in some places the material is thicker than it needs to be for damper stability.
For some years now, another manufacturing process has been available in sinter technology: printing.
The main advantage is that only exactly the required material thickness is produced at each point – no more, but also no less.
Roedale Precision is now showing its own functional series damper made from 3D printing for the first time: the TI50 made of titanium.
For its size, the damper is a spring, so you automatically wonder whether you are holding a plastic dummy or an empty housing in your hand.
Nevertheless, the manufacturer promises damping values of at least 29 dB and thus the same level as the undeniably powerful big (and heavy) brother Hunter 55.
With these performance data, the new damper generation would thus be more than a nose ahead of the comparable standard dampers of the competitors.
Unfortunately, with so much light there is also a very large, long shadow, because due to the enormous production costs (the corresponding machines are extremely expensive and work slowly) the sales price of the standard damper is currently 1.200 €.
Many will be very interested to see how many buyers are willing to gold-plate the undoubted advantages of the new damper type with a more than 100% premium compared to a standard damper with additional weight and volume.
Of course, other manufacturers still have ready-made concepts in the drawer, but still have no real conviction that the end consumer prices necessary to compensate for the exorbitant costs can be enforced.
B&T StarLite: compact, modular silencer for hunting with “military technology” – highly effective and very robust
New for 2020: The Swiss company B&T AG is a world-renowned manufacturer of silencers, specializing in the production of silencers for authorities and the military.
For some years now, B&T has also had specially adapted models for the hunting sector in its portfolio.
Now, with the new StarLite, it offers an especially compact silencer for hunting.
We would like to introduce the new whisper bag.
The new StarLite Jagd/Sport silencer is in terms of design and technology an offshoot of the proven Rotex and Impulse IIA silencers from the Swiss specialist B&T.
The manufacturer’s expertise from the professional-military sector was already incorporated into its hunting silencers in terms of quality and performance, and has now been further developed on this basis: with the StarLite, the company offers a particularly compact silencer, which largely contains military technology, but is tailored to the needs of hunters.
B&T’s silencers must be able to withstand enormous loads in official use and in military applications (for example, continuous fire).
However, a hunter or sports marksman will never stress a silencer in this way.
This means that there are more options available during the design phase to adapt the functionality of the silencer to its field of application.
Despite its smaller dimensions, the StarLite has excellent noise suppression as well as good suppression of the muzzle flash thanks to a specially adapted design.
At the same time the weight of the silencer remains pleasantly low due to the use of high-strength aluminum.
B&T StarLite silencer: High flexibility for hunting in functionality and application thanks to new thread adapters
The StarLite silencers can be used flexibly. They are downward compatible, so they can also be used on rifles in smaller calibers.
Since different guns often have different muzzle threads, B&T offers a total of 10 different metric and inch thread adapters.
This means that the customer does not have to buy two silencers, but can quickly and easily use his silencer on different rifles by using an inexpensive adapter.
With a length of 180 mm at a diameter of 50 mm the StarLite is available for three caliber groups: ≤ 6.2 mm / .243″, ≤ 7.62 mm / .308″ and ≤ 9.3 mm / .366″. The attenuation is up to 34 dB.
For years the use of silencers in hunting has been increasing continuously.
The hearing of hunters and hunting dogs is reliably protected and the aggravation of game is reduced.
Further advantages should not be underestimated:
Due to the much lower recoil, one remains in the target after the shot and keeps a much better overview of the action due to the optical system.
The drawing of the game can also be followed more closely and the increased stability helps to achieve more precision for a possible second shot.
A better overview is also ensured by the suppression of the muzzle flash, which can blind the shooter at dusk and night.
Special ammunition such as the RWS Performance Line SHORT RIFLE is recommended for use in weapons with short barrels and silencers.
These are all currently available calibers, bullets and prices for 2020.
